In concert with Community Futures North Okanagan, developed the initial operation business plan for the new Vernon & District Multi-use Facility [now Kal Tire Centre]. The business plan provided the owner/operator with steps to initiate a comprehensive multi-faceted operations plan in order to maximize use and minimize overall operation costs of the facility.

Shuswap River Recreation Corridor Assessment
Recreation Corridor Planning - North Okanagan
With the headwaters starting at Sugar Lake through Mabel Lake and emptying into Mara Lake, the entire length of the Shuswap River is within the confines of the North Okanagan. This study entailed a comprehensive mapping of the corridor along with river classifying (Levels 1-4) and location of existing and potential public access sites. The goal of this study was to develop a recreation canoe/kayack route that all users could utilize on a day use and/or overnight excursion.

Risk Assessment
Recreation & Parks Risk Management - Regional District of Nanaimo
The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) Recreation and Park Department engaged the collaborative expertise of McGregor & Associates and Recresynthesis Consulting to assess their current risk/safety program. The process was designed to identify and then manage threats that could impact the organization. The assessment involved an online staff survey along with on site interviews with the participants.

District of Port Hardy - Aquatic Centre
Aquatic Facility Design - District of Port Hardy
Recresynthesis Consulting was engaged by the District of Port Hardy to develop a request for quotation for the construction of a new swirlpool at their aquatic centre. The project included on-site analysis of the facility, a review of the engineered specifications, drafting of the terms of reference for the RFQ and providing contact information of qualified contractors.

Li'wat Nation Play Field Development
Sport Field Design - Mt. Currie
The Lil’wat Nation (Mt. Currie) contracted RCI to provide a cursory review of their current inventory of activity open space. The goal of the study was to present options for the development of sports fields and amenities to be utilized by the community. The need to meet this demand is important as field sports are an activity from which all residents of Pemberton Valley can benefit in creating active lifestyles.

It Starts In Your Parks
Municipal Parks & Open Space Master Planning
RCI, in partnership with Outland Landscape Design Architects, produced the initial Parks Master Plan for the District of Coldstream. The plan included an inventory of existing park and open spaces as well as a classification of each in regards to maintenance and operation. The Master Plan also made recommendations as to the future of parks within the District.

This operating strategy included creating operational efficiencies, costing analysis for revenue and expenses as well potential facility programming in order to attract a wide specturm of users and potential to procure multiple sources of revenue.

BC Hockey Arena Strategy
A key contributor to quality of life in our communities is the array of, and quality of, recreation facilities, including ice arenas, enjoyed by both residents and visitors.
Understanding that these community elements of are integral to resident and user satisfaction, RCI was contracted by BC Hckey to conduct an ice arena strategy that outlined several key priorities for ice arenas within the Provincial Sport Organization's jurisdiction.
