Leisure Development Course 2025
In June, our group of students representing all parts of BC and as well as Alberta, along with our instruction team, gather at the Vance Creek Hotel & Conference Centre on Silver Star Mountain to participate in the professional development learning opportunity presented by the Leisure Development Course. In 2025 the Year Three Track, Developing Personal Leadership; Group Dynamics; Agency & Civic Communications; and, Educating for Leisure, all topics essential to personal and professional success as well as enhancing the effectiveness of the individual's respective agency or organization. In 2025 the Leisure Development Course will be held June 11th - 915h at Vance Creek Hotel & Confereence Centre.

Agency & Civic Communications
Using communication techniques to improve your image and that of your agency, both internally and externally, as well as evaluating the various techniques of communication processes will be discussed including how to develop and make effective presentations.

Group Dynamics
The logic of individual behaviour in a group setting will be studied from a leadership perspective. Successful techniques involved to facilitate group action and team building toward positive outcomes is a prime objective
of this session.

Educatng for Leisure
Educating for leisure is an important function of recreation, parks, and culture agencies. Practitioners need to create awareness of the value of recreation and assist others to access meaningful leisure activities. This can build both individual wellbeing and community quality of life!
